Lakshmi Manchu opens up about harassment

Lakshmi Manchu opens up about harassmentLakshmi Manchu, who is an active user of social media sites, interacted with her fans via twitter and opened up about harassment.  When one of her fan asked Manchu Lakshmi, “Opinion on MeToo!!! As a celebrity kid… did you ever faced situations like fellow co-stars!!! @LakshmiManchu.”

Lakshmi Manchu replied, “In life yes”

Lakshmi Manchu was last seen in g Telugu film W/O Ram, directed by Vijay Yelakanti, which received decent response by the movie lovers and critics on its opening day. Manchu Lakshmi played  the role of Deeksha who run from pillar to post to find the culprits behind her husband’s murder.

Recently during the media interaction, when  Lakshmi Manchu  was asked about #MeToo movement in context of the film, she said, “There is not a single woman who has not been violated, embarrassed, assaulted in some form or the other in the course of her life. It’s vital to speak up about all this to spread awareness and bring a change in the society. It’s necessary to change our mindset first.  And when you are a celebrity, it is necessary to communicate about such issues with a large number of people.”

On the workside, Manchu Lakshmi made her debut film in Telugu  with Anaganaga O Dheerudu. She followed it up with movies like Kadal, Gundello Godari, Chandamama Kathalu, Dongaata among others.

 Recently Samantha Akkineni also joined Metoo movement and came for the support of singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada.

The MeToo movement has created lot of buzz in film Industry. Number of top celebrities like Nana Patekar, Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher and Anu Malik has been named. Recently actress Tanushree Dutta made sensational comments on Nana Patekar and said that he sexually harassed her during the shoot of Horn OK Pleassss movie.  Tanushree Dutta’s sexual harassment allegations against Kaala Villain Nana Patekar that marked the first wave, many men and women have now mustered up the courage to share their MeToo stories with the world. MNS chief Raj Thackeray on #MeToo said, “I know Nana Patekar; he is indecent. But I don’t think he can do such a thing.”
