Police Complaint on actress Revathi

Police Complaint on actress RevathiRevathi, the Senior South Indian actress, came out with a clarification on a comment which she had made on the experience of a minor girl during the shooting of a film years ago.  A man reportedly filed a police complaint against the actress hiding the incident all these years. Finally Revathi said in a press note that this incident took place 25 or 26 years back and neither the girl was sexually nor physically assaulted.

Revathi made it clear that a 17-year-old girl had knocked at her doors at around 11.30 PM, pleading to save her during the shooting of a movie. She added, “I don’t want to disclose her identity. I asked her to come inside the room and locked the door. The girl was scared and I was also scared. We both waited out that night in fear. No sexual or physical assault happened.”

The actress added that she had shared the experience since she did not want such incidents to be repeated in the film industry any more.

On Saturday, Revathi and  Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) members had criticized AMMA and its leadership for allegedly showing bias against the assaulted actress and supporting the actor Dileep. WCC opposed the re-entry of actor Dileep vehemently but many members of AMMA wanted actor Dileep back and said that he was expelled without any notice and it was unfair to keep him out for long. Revathi also attacked Mohanlal for allegedly backing Dileep. She alleged  that they are trying to support the accused and not the survivor.

Revathi added that their campaign has just started and more incidents will be highlighted in coming days.

Revathi has been the part of several Telugu movies like Loafer, Size Zero, and Brahmotsavam and she was last seen in Akkineni Naga Chaitanya starrer Yuddham Sharanam in 2017.
