Samantha Akkineni, the daughter-in-law of Akkineni Nagarjuna also came in the support of #Metoo. Samantha stood up for the singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripada when she had accused lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual harassment. As Chinmayi and Samantha are good friends , the Rangasthalam actress came in her support but now she is being trolled on social media sites. It is known news that Sri Reddy is also fighting against the casting couch/Sexual harassment in Telugu film Industry. When Sri Reddy made sensational comments and claimed that she was sexually harassed by many (Abhiram Daggubati, Nani, Kona Venkat, AR Murugadoss, Srikanth and others), no one came in her support and when Chinmayi is making allegations, Samantha came in her support.
One of the netizen names Sakshi asked Samantha, “Samantha, u r an actor of such a high calibre & u r standing with her now?? u should have given her courage then to speak.. she was going through harassment .. u friends should have spoken on her behalf …what made u wait?? If Tanushree would not have spoken, no standing??”
Samantha Akkineni replied, “Because it is only now a sisterhood where our words are stronger than these predators #MeToo or is it ?”
