Sri Reddy, the Telugu actress who is fighting against Casting couch/ Sexual Harassment in Telugu Film Industry and has also revealed several names from Tollywood and Kollywood (Natural Star Nani, Kona Venkat, Viva Harsha, AR Murugadoss, Raghava Lawrence, Srikanth) is very happy as Bollywood celebrities are raising their voices against the sexual harassment and joined #metoo. Today morning Sri Reddy said that everyone should appreciate the women guts.
Sri Reddy wrote on her Facebook, “Good morning..Thanks to each n every woman who are participating in me too movement..I expected this wl happened one day..every one should appreciate the women guts..when I started me too movement, society nd colleagues nd family every one treated me so awful nd awkward,even telugu media ..now its became a revolution from the women world..more than that when I talked about this, single south Indian actress didnt support this..after Bollywood opened the doors for the sexual harassment big heroines started supporting,any how it’s a good move.. #metoo..”
Sri Reddy clearly said, when she started her fight in film Industry, no any South actress came in her support.
The #MeToo movement – which led to thousands of people sharing their stories of sexual harassment – started nearly a year ago. It was sparked after allegations of rape and sexual misconduct were made against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and now it is gaining momentum in India.
Recently Tanushree Dutta claimed that in 2008 Nana Patekar demanded intimate dance steps be included in a song for the film Horn OK Please, despite her saying she was uncomfortable.
After this incident, Tanushree left Bollywood. According to her, she turned down job offers because she felt ‘broken’ and ‘humiliated’. But this time, Tanushree Dutta’s claims have been supported on social media, which started with journalist Janice Sequeira who was on set in 2008.
In 2016, Amitabh Bachchan wrote a long open letter on female empowerment to his granddaughter. But when he was asked about Tanushree’s allegations, he said he could not comment as he is neither Tanushree Dutta nor Nana Patekar.
Sri Reddy,came into national spotlight after she decided to strip on the street to protest against casting couch in Tollywood .
