The Indian-Canadian comedian, who is best known by her YouTube name IISuperwomanII, Lilly Singh has released a five minute long video on her Twitter and wrote, “I remade some of my favourite Bollywood songs into rap songs! Oh gosh… one more remix?!” YouTube phenomenon Lilly Singh used the music of three popular Hindi songs (Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, All Izz Well and Aankh Marey from Simmba ) with a Bollywood twist. The song touches on stereotyped projection of women in films and music, outlines challenges relating to mental health and bis*xuality.
Her music addressed mental health, body image and her bisexuality. While sharing the video on YouTube she wrote “I love Bollywood and I love rap music. So I decided to let my worlds collide by turning some of my favourite songs into rap songs! And while I was at it, I thought, why not make them little motivational anthems that speak to causes close to my heart? I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!”
Lilly Singh explores her own bis*xuality in this video to encourage her fans to embrace themselves, whatever their s*xual preferences may be.
In the month of February 2019, Lilly Singh, who is also a comedian, author and a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador, revealed on social media that she is bis*xual and called it her “superpower”. Other popular YouTubers have also come out as bis*xual in recently. In October, Anna Akana also announced that she is a bis*xual after getting drunk at the Streamy Awards.
