Rakul Preet was the third Tollywood personality who was questioned by the ED few days ago. Director Puri Jagannadh who is known for helming ismart Shankar was questioned for nearly 10 hours on Tuesday whereas Charmme Kaur was quizzed for about eight hours on Thursday. While speaking about Tollywood drug case, the senior producer Natti Kumar made sensational controversial comments on Telugu celebrities and their managers.
The producer Natti Kumar said, “Telugu celebrities are always subject to accusations whenever the drugs case emerges in the film industry. I am demanding a thorough interrogation into the Tollywood drugs case. These actors have made it a habit to hike their remuneration and get used to luxuries after scoring a single hit and this culture needs to be changed. The managers of the celebs might have a role to play in the drugs case. They fix the remunerations for actors and take a hefty percentage for the same. They are bringing down the standards of Telugu film Industry with their greed. The investigating officers should take these managers into custody and track their bank transactions. After the investigations, the officials might find links to drug peddling and illegal sales.”
The ED officials are questioning the film celebrities about the financial transactions, if any, with those involved in the Tollywood drugs case. Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur were questioned about the suspected links with Calvin Mascarenhas, a key accused in the drug case.
