National award winning actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of former actress and the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu- J Jayalalithaa. Umair Sandhu, the  member of UK censor board has  posted Thalaivii review  on Twitter.

Thalaivii Review:  Thalaivii : Best Film of 2021 by so far. 5th National is on the way for Kangana Ranaut ! She is the No.1 Actress in India today. Take a Bow. What an Outstanding film. Please Go and  Support Good Cinema. Rating: 5/5

Rangoon fame actress Kangana Ranaut felt that she was the worst casting choice for this film Thalaivii as she is so different from former TN chief minister J Jayalalithaa.   The sources say that director Vijay convinced Kangana Ranaut  that she was perfect for the role. She felt that he had so much to lose and if he was insisting, there must be some merit to his thinking.

Thalaivii is about the journey of Jayalalithaa from movies to politics.  Earlier during an interview, Kangana revealed about gaining 20 kgs for the role. However, she said that everything is worth it when she looks at how the movie turned out.

Bhagyashree is playing the role of Sandhya – Jayalalithaa’ mother, Arvind Swami as MRG  and Madhoo as MGR’s wife VN Janaki Ramachandran.
