We have already reported that the ED had summoned over ten personalities from Tollywood, such as film-maker Puri Jagannadh, and actors Rana Daggubati and Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, in connection with the racket of supplying high end narcotics such as LSD and MDMA. ED has already grilled Puri Jagannadh, Charmee Kaur , Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh, Nandu, Tanish in the case. Tollywood personalities, who had faced inquiry in the drugs case investigated by SIT of the Excise Department, were given a clean chit on Saturday. The reports are coming that Forensic Science Lab has given a clean chit to Puri Jagannath and Tarun.
Both Puri Jagannadh and Tarun recently attended the questioning and cooperated with the SIT officials. They have also submitted their financial transaction records.
Forensic Science Lab said in its report that the nails, hair and blood samples collected from Puri Jagannath and Tarun in 2017 did not contain any traces of narcotic substances.
The drugs racket was busted in the city in 2017 by the Telangana’ Prohibition and Excise department. Several cases related to drug trafficking were registered and over twenty people were arrested including a US citizen, who was a former aerospace engineer and he had worked with NASA, a Dutch national, a South African national besides seven B Tech degree holders employed with multinational companies in Hyderabad.
