Bollywood Veteran actor Kader Khan, popular for his comic roles in Coolie No.1, Taqdeerwala and many more films, has passed away at the age of 81. According to the latest update, Kader Khan breathed his last at a hospital in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday. This news is also confirmed by his family member.
Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz has also confirmed the same news on Tuesday morning that the veteran actor-writer passed away on Monday evening.
Kader Khan was suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia.
Sarfaraz Khan interacted with media and said, “My dad Kader Khan has left us. He passed away on 31st December at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks.”
Kader Khan has appeared in over 300 films after his debut film in the 1973 film Daag , starring Rajesh Khanna, in which he acted as a prosecuting attorney. He was also a prolific screenwriter for Bollywood films in the 1970s and 1980s. Before entering the film industry in the early 1970s, Kader Khan taught at M. H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai as a professor of Civil Engineering. His popular movies are Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, Banarasi Babu, Deewana Mastana, Aunty No. 1, Dulhe Raja, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Anari No. 1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, and Joru Ka Ghulam , Aaj Ka Daur, Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, Hum, Bol Radha Bol, Aankhen, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Raja Babu, Judaai, Judwaa, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge etc.
Kader Khan’s last rites will be performed in Canada. It is heard that In the last few days, the actor was just able to maintain eye contact. He had stopped talking completely.
