Few days ago, the makers of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga released the first trailer, which went viral on social media sites. The trailer earned a big thumbs up from all her fans. While the movie looks like a mushy romance that is also about families and a father’s love for his daughter, it also delves deeper into the intricacies of love and how one cannot really choose who they fall for.
The screenplay of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is written by a transwoman. Gazal Dhaliwal, born as Gunraj, is also the writer of films like Alankrita Shrivastava’s Lipstick Under My Burkha and Tanuja Chandra’s Qarib Qarib Singlle.
Gazal Dhaliwal also shared a poster of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga on her Instagram account and captioned it, “Yay! I started writing this film 26 months back. So, you might say it was 2 years in the making. But I would say it was several decades in the making.”
Gazal Dhaliwal has also appeared on Aamir Khan’s show, Satyameva Jayate, where she revealed that she knew she was a woman trapped in a man’s body since the age of 5.
Apart from Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Regina Cassandra, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, has other stars like Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla in pivotal roles. The film will hit the theatres on 1st February 2019.
On the other-side, Regina Cassandra will also be seen in Nenjam Marappathillai and Party.
