Prakash Raj contesting on TRS ticket

On the occasion of new year, Prakash Raj announced his political entry.  He said that he  would  contest as an independent candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The National Award-winning actor Prakash Raj made the declaration in a tweet, “Happy New Year to everyone. A new beginning… more responsibility.. with your support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an independent candidate. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki baar Janatha ki Sarkar in parliament too….” According to the latest update, Bengaluru-born Prakash Raj is going to contest on TRS Ticket.

 Prakash Raj waged a war against Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi, BJP (Bhartiya Janatha Party) and Right Wing Groups after Gauri Lankesh murder. This stand brought him closer to KCR after the announcement of Federal Front.

 Yesterday Prakash Raj took to his Twitter to share a pic of himself with KTR and wrote, ” Thank you @KTRTRS for the inspiring support to my political journey… a new beginning NOT AGAINST some one but FOR THE SOCIETY #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too ..”

KTR congratulated Prakash Raj and wrote, “Congratulations @prakashraaj on the decision to enter public life. Let your journey be all about bringing positive change; Wish you good luck.”

 On several occasions, Prakash Raj campaigned against the NDA Government and opposed the policies introduced by PM Narendra Modi. He was critical about Demonetisation, GST and the failure in addressing Farmers Issues. He earlier claimed that Bollywood filmmakers stopped offering him roles as he has been critical of the Narendra Modi-led government. He is the latest celebrity to join politics from south after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Prakash Raj also supported TRS in the Telangana Assembly Polls. And now he is going to contest on TRS Ticket.
