Samantha and Sharwanand in 96 remake

Samantha and Sharwanand have teamed up for an upcoming Telugu project, the remake of blockbuster Tamil movie 96. Noted distributor and  producer Dil Raju has brought the remake rights of this flick in which young actor Sharwanand and Samantha will be seen essaying Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha’s roles respectively and director C Prem Kumar will helm its Telugu version. The romantic film 96 was regarded as one of the best flicks in 2018 and it has created a cult following for its content.

 According to the latest buzz, the makers are planning to make major changes in the script. It is heard that the story which happened in 1996 in the Tamil will be set to happen in 2009 in the Telugu remake. This decision is taken by the makers as they are feeling that Sharwanand will be fit his role if the movie is set in the 2009 period.

 It has also come out that Telugu version of 96 will not focus on Samantha and Sharwanand’s school days. The sources close to the actor reveal that he will be seen sporting a younger look, with a trimmed beard. The regular shoot of this remake is expected to commence from the month of March and the makers are planning to wrap the shoot as soon as possible as they are willing to release the movie in August 2019.

Sharwanand was recently seen in Hanu Raghavapudi directorial venture- the romantic entertainer Padi Padi Leche Manasu in which Sai Pallavi played the female lead role. Unfortunitly the movie was turned out commercially flop at the box office. Currently Sharwanand is  busy in the shoot of an untitled actioner, helmed by Sudheer Varma.

 On the other-side, Samantha Akkineni is currently romancing with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya for Majili. Apart from Shiva Nirvana’s film, Samantha will also be seen in upcoming Telugu movie O Baby, the remake of Miss Granny.
