Recently during the media interaction, the film maker and actor said, “After watching my movie Nadodigal, Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli sir had sent me a long message. We have been in touch since then. Recently, he invited me to his house to introduce me to his family. He wanted me to play a key role in his upcoming film #RRR starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan. I agreed instantly.”
In 1997, Chennai born Samuthirakani joined as an assistant director under K Vijayan. Samuthirakani who always used to keep himself busy with work was noticed by Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachander and he was roped in as assistant director for his 100th film Parthaale Paravasam. Subramaniapuram showcased Samuthirakani as an actor with potential and Nadodigal helped him prove his mettle as a director. Samuthirakani showed his best performance as an honest policeman in Visaranai movie for which he got Best Character Artist Award from Ananda Vikatan. Now he is going to play the crucial role in RRR in which Ram Charan and Jr NTR are playing the lead roles. Till date the makers did not reveal anything regarding its female leads. It is heard that Keerthy Suresh and Priya Mani’s names are being considered to play the female leads. RRR is being produced by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment.
