Richa Chadha is playing the role adult star Shakeela in this upcoming biopic, who is known for her movies in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industry. Richa Chadha starrer Shakeela biopic is directed by Indrajith Lankesh and bankrolled by Magic Cinemas and Yoddhas Entertainment. The biopic will release in Summer 2019.
The shoot of the film took off in a small village in Karnataka and Richa Chadha had earlier shared a few stills from the sets as well, in which she was seen wearing the traditional sari of Kerala, kasavu. Few months ago, the makers also released the first look poster of Shakeela where Richa Chadha was seen wearing gold jewelry.
Richa Chadha also met Shakeela to understand her better. She is also expected to make a cameo in the film that also stars Pankaj Tripathi in a pivotal role.
Shakeela has acted in many B grade movies. One of her big hit films was Kinnarathumbikal in Malayalam, which brought her into limelight and resulted in an unheard-of craze for her from youngsters to the old. She also did a few controversial topless scenes in her initial movies, but once she got noticed after Kinnarathumbikal. Her B-Grade films were dubbed and released in almost all Indian languages. Her films that graced the screens in the 90s were popularly known as soft porn and many labelled her as a porn star.
Pankaj Tripathi and Rajeev Pillai will be playing important roles in Shakeela biopic.
