After a long gap of 22 years, the versatile actor Prakash Raj is going to play the same role. It is known news that Prakash Raj has essayed the role of Karunanidhi in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Iruvar’ and received a lot of applause for his performance. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, once again Prakash Raj is all set to essay the role of Karunanidhi in J Jayalalitha biopic.
Prakash Raj is going to play the role of Karunanidhi yet again and this time in the biopic of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa in which Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the title role. The makers have locked Aravind Swamy to essay the role of MGR and now they are planning to rope Prakash Raj for Karunanidhi’s role.
M Karunanidhi who was Jayalalithaa’s biggest opponent was a well-known writer in Tamil Cinema before turning to politics. Jayalalithaa made her debut in Kollywood with the film Vennira Aadai in 1965. Karunanidhi was a successful and much sought after scriptwriter in the film industry, but not around the time Jayalalithaa was a rising star.
Jayalalithaa biopic – Thalaivi will be helmed by AL Vijay and will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh.
On the other side, Prakash Raj will be next seen in the upcoming film Sarileru Neekevvaru, which has Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
