Multilingual actor and the filmmaker Ramesh Aravind shared a personal bond with the legendary playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam for over 3 decades.
The demise of veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has come as a shock to many. This twist of fate has left many close associates of the SP Balu upset and heartbroken. Among them is multilingual actor Ramesh Aravind.
The actor and the film maker Ramesh Aravind revealed that S P Balasubrahmanyam was approached to sing a song for his upcoming directorial venture, the Kannada film 100.
S P Balasubrahmanyam shared the screen with Ramesh Aravind in his Tamil film ‘Manathil Uruthi Vendum’ which was released in 1987. He essayed the role of a doctor who smoked cigarettes but advised others not to.
Ramesh Aravind discloses why S P Balasubrahmanyam declined to sing a song for his upcoming Kannada film ‘100’,” I sent SPB a tune by Ravi Basrur, the music director for the movie. SPB wrote back to me saying ‘Ramesh, these notes don’t match my natural level.”
Ramesh Aravind had interviewed SPB for his TV show ‘Weekend With Ramesh’. After this show, SP Balu hugged Ramesh and said that it was perhaps the best interview of his life.
For S P Balasubrahmanyam and Ramesh Arvind, their favourite song has always been En Kadhale from the film, Duet.
