Sameera Reddy who  made her debut as an actress in Saravana Subbiah’s Tamil film Citizen, during early 2000s, interacted with media and recalled an indirect instance of how female actors are treated in the film industry.

Jai Chiranjeeva  actress Sameera Reddy said, “I was caught off guard when a kissing scene was included in one of my films without her knowledge.  When I was doing this film and suddenly I was told that there would be a kissing scene. When I said no, the makers said to me, ‘You did it in Musafir,’ and I was like but that doesn’t mean I will keep on doing it.  The director had then told me that please handle this with care but remember you are replaceable.”

Musafir fame Sameera Reddy added that she was blackmailed saying if she does not kiss, she will be kicked out of the film right away.

Sameera Reddy has shared the screen space with Anil Kapoor in Musafir. Her popular movies are  Darna Mana Hai, Musafir, Jai Chiranjeeva, Taxi Number 9211,  Race, Varanam Aayiram, Ashok,  De Dana Dan, Aakrosh, Vettai and Tezz. Sameera  has also been the part of few Telugu and Tamil movies. She has worked with Jr NTR in the movie Narasimhudu and with Megastar Chiranjeevi in Jai Chiranjeeva.
