Kapoor family selling RK Studios

Late Bollywood actor and producer Raj Kapoor build RK studios and now it is on sale. Kapoor Family always wanted to preserve Raj Kapoor’s heritage RK Studios after the showman’s death three decades but now the family is selling RK Studios.

 According to the latest update, Raj Kapoor’s family including Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor and their sons Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor and daughters Ritu Nanda, Rima Jain have  has taken the decision to sell the property collectively.  Rishi Kapoor, the son of the studio’s founder, the legendary Raj Kapoor, interacted with media and opened up about  the selling of RK Studio.  Rishi Kapoor said, the renovation of the  RK studio would still not bring in enough revenue to keep the establishment running. The Kapoor family is emotional and we have taken the decision to sell the RK Studio.  Even before the fire, for years RK Studio had become a huge white elephant, toting up losses. “

When someone asked  that If Ranbir Kapoor is interested in keeping the studio, Rishi Kapoor said, “If he has the money, let him buy it from us then. But seriously, it is a silly question. It’s Ranbir Kapoor’s time to concentrate on his career, Sanju (the biopic of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt) has validated him as a commercially successful actor”.

Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “A portion of the Kapoor family’s iconic RK Films And Studios caught fire in September 2017.“ A studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all RK Films, is tragic for all. Fire took it away.”

 Number of hit movies like Jis Desh Me Ganga Behti Hain (1960), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Bobby (1973), Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Prem Rog (1982), Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985), which was Raj Kapoor’s last film before his death in June 1988, were shot at RK Studio..
