Geetha Govindam starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, directed by Parasuram, was arrived at the theaters on 15th August 2018, on the occasion of Independence day and currently running successfully at the box office. Recently film maker Raghavendra Rao made sensational comments on Parasuram’s directorial venture Geetha Govindam and said, “ Parasuram copied my film Pelli Sandadi.”
It is known news that Santosham awards were celebrated recently and number of celebrities including Raghavendra Rao, producer Allu Aravind, Mega Star Chiranjeevi, singer S Janaki and others graced the occasion as chief guests. On this occasion Raghavendra Rao opened up about Geetha Govindam and director Parasuram. Though Raghavendra Rao showered praises for Geetha Govindam and appreciated the hard work of entire team but gave a shock when he said, “ The director Parasuram copied my movie Pelli Sandadi and made Geetha Govindam.” Raghavendra Rao added, “Allu Aravind and I had made Pelli Sandadi 20 years ago. Geetha Govindam reminded me of my movie. Generally it’s impossible to make a movie without a single kiss. There will be a lot of pressure from the producers. I congratulate director Parasuram for making the movie without compromising.
Geetha Govidam, which is produced by Bunny Vas under the banner of Geetha Arts 2 and presented by Allu Aravind, has already joined the club of Rs 100 Cr marks. In USA, Geetha Govindam has also crossed $2 Million marks. The trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection figure of Geetha Govindam on his twitter, “The DREAM RUN continues… #Telugu film #GeethaGovindam remains the FIRST CHOICE, sidelining *all* new releases and holdover titles [Indian films] in USA… $ 2 million+ and counting… [Week 2] Fri $ 62,831 Sat $ 151,641 Sun $ 89,551 Total: $ 2,084,822 [₹ 14.60 cr] @comScore.” He again tweeted, “Vijay Deverakonda has built a strong fan-base in USA… #GeethaGovindam is his first *solo lead* to cross $ 2 mn… The actor has two million dollar movies under his belt: #PelliChoopulu and #ArjunReddy… #Mahanati [$ 2.5 mn+] had Vijay in a key role, but was an ensemble cast.”
