Payal Chakraborty, a Bengali television actress was found dead under mysterious circumstances in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district. Her body was sent for autopsy but initial investigation suggests suicide. According to the Police report, Payal Chankraborty committed suicide by hanging herself in a hotel room in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district. She was found hanging from a ceiling fan of her room in a hotel in Siliguri. The police officer said, the body of Payal Chakraborty was recovered at around 5 pm on Wednesday.
The police said, “We received a phone call from the hotel. They informed us when they did not receive any response from her hotel room since Wednesday afternoon. We broke the door of the hotel room which was locked from inside. Payal Chakraborty was found hanging from ceiling.”
According to the police report, preliminary investigation suggests the actress Payal Chakraborty committed suicide. She had been the part of number of movies and Bengali television serials like Ek Masher Sahitya, Goenda Ginni, and Chokher Tara Tui.
Siliguri police contacted Payal Chakraborty’s family in Kolkata. She had checked into the Siliguri hotel located at Church Road on Tuesday and was supposed to leave for Gangtok on Wednesday. The actress had got divorced recently and she was depressed. She is survived by her parents and a son.
