Kathi Mahesh made a scathing attack on the culture of our society at the back drop of honour killings. He alleged that the parents in the society are lacking the sense and responsibility towards the society. He further said that the parents doesn’t bother about their daughters after marrying them to NRIs. Hamara Prasad countered Kathi Mahesh by stating that Kathi Mahesh himself has become like this due to his irresponsible parents. He also made controversial statements on honour killings. It is known news that the 24-year-old Perumalla Pranay, a Telangana man was murdered by a killer recently when he was coming out of a hospital with his wife Amrutha Varshini after a regular pregnancy check-up. He was killed by a person who was hired by Amrutha Varshini’s father T Maruthi Rao for Rs 10 lakh.
According to Maruthi Rao, the honour of his caste was more important for him than his daughter.
Days after her Dalit husband Perumalla Pranay was murdered for marrying her, a caste Hindu, Amrutha Varshini, has been subjected to harassment on social media. This after the Telangana government offered Amrutha Varshini compensation of Rs 8 lakh under relevant provisions for the Scheduled Caste and also promised her a two-bedroom flat.
During the media interaction, Amrutha said, “I have been receiving a lot of hate messages asking for what reason I deserve money or house.” She further said, “Besides, receiving hate messages personally, I have also come across hate messages on Facebook and Instagram”
Amrutha added, “I never aspired to become MLA, nor asked for money or double-bedroom. I have only one demand that all the accused in my husband Pranay’s murder should be sentenced to death. “
