The 9-years-old girl’s body was found decomposed in a nearby forest area on Sunday near her home in Uri. According to the police report, a 14-year-old boy along with his three friends gang-raped his nine-year-old stepsister in Kashmir’s Baramulla.
The police have arrested five people including her stepmother and step-brother, in connection with the case. When the police recovered the decomposed body of girl from a forest near the girl’s home in Uri, they found her eyes had been gouged out and her body was burnt with acid.
Mir Imtiyaz Hussain, SSP Baramulla said, “We started the investigation about this rape and murder case immediately.” The child’s stepmother was found to have instigated her 14-year-old son to commit the crime.
Imtiyaz Hussain further said, “The interrogation with the victim’s stepmother revealed that the father of the girl allegedly spent more time with her mother rather than with her stepmother. Also, among the children, the victim was the closest to her father which led to jealousy among the siblings.”
He added, “The step mother conspired to kill her stepdaughter. She took her step daughter to the nearby jungle where she asked her 14-year-old son to rape the girl. She was raped in the presence of her step mother. After the rape, stepmother strangled the girl whereas the boy hit her head on the head with an axe and a man gouged the girl’s eyes out with a sharp knife and poured acid on her body. We have recovered the axe and knife. A plastic can containing acid has also been found.”
SSP Baramullah said, “The girl was gang-raped and murdered. Her eyes were gouged out and the acid was thrown on her private parts and chest. We have seized murder weapons and the plastic can which was used to bring acid. All 5 accused, including 2 minors arrested.
