Varalaxmi Sarathkumar may play the role of late Chief Minister of Tamilnadu J Jayalalithaa in Iron Lady. AR Murugadoss has released the first look of J Jayalalithaa’s biopic titled The Iron Lady and according to the latest buzz, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar , the daughter of actor Sharat Kumar, is going to play the lead role. He wrote on the wall of Twitter, “Extremely happy and excited to launch the Title poster of #Jayalalithaabiopic #THEIRONLADY I wish @priyadhaarshini and team for a grand success..”
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has indicated by her tweet that she has not signed the project yet. She wrote on the wall of her Twitter, “Thank you all for the wishes.. but NOTHING has been finalised regarding #THEIRONLADY with @priyadhaarshini … when and if we do finalise things I will be the first to let u all know.. thank you .. as I’m travelling abroad I’m not able to attend most of the media calls..apologies. [sic]”
The upcoming movie is written and directed by A Priyadhaarshini. She is a former protégée of Myskin and is also currently directing Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s upcoming movie Sakthi. Earlier she has worked as associate of director Mysskin, who directed films like Pishachi and Detective. It is heard that the regular shoot of the film will be started from 24th February on the birth anniversary of the late Tamil Nadu chief minister.
Priyadhaarshini posted on her Twitter account, “Will reveal who is playing to #Jayalalithaa mam role at Inaguration cermony..(sic).”
Recently during the media interaction, Priyadarshini said that she was planning to release the movie n multiple language including Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.
Meanwhile, another biopic on the life of Tamilnadu CM Jayalalithaa is in the pipeline. Madrasapattinam and Deiva Thirumagal maker Vijay has been roped in to direct the biopic and it will be bankrolled by Vibri Media, which is also producing 83 and the NTR biopic.
