Baahubali Singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi tied the knot with Anoop at Vaikom Mahadeva Temple on 22nd October. The couple got engaged in a simple ceremony at Vaikom Vijayalakshmi’s home in the month of September.
The visually impaired singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi got married with Anoop who is a mimicry artiste and an interior designer. Their wedding were attended by Several prominent personalities from the film and music industry. Yesudas along with wife Prabha and son Vijay, music directors, M Jayachandran and Ouseppachan, senior CPI leader Pannian Raveendran and others attended the wedding of Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and Anoop.
In 2016, Singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi was engaged to Bahrain based Santhosh but their wedding was called up due to unknown reasons. It was heard that as Santhosh asked Vaikom Vijayalakshmi to stop singing after the wedding and teach music at a school. So the singer called off her wedding. She was praised for her decision in social media sites.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is also an expert in playing the musical instrument Gayatriveena. The talented Singer has crooned ‘Siva Sivaya Potri’ song of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali which was composed by MM Keeravani.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi was born blind in Vaikom on 7 October 1981 and later on moved to Chennai. She has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades. Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, in the first 10 years, had performed at more than 400 stages in all the major `sabhas’ in Chennai, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore and other major cities of India. She has performed several concerts with the instrument. She is popular for her songs – Kaikkottum Kandittilla, Uppinu Pona Vazhi Ethu and Neeyo Njano.
Vaikom Vijayalakshmi has also crooned a song “Notlona Velu Pedithe” for Telugu movie Meda Meeda Abbayi in 2017 in which Allari Naresh and Nikhila Vimal, played the lead roles.
