Niharika Singh, the actress and former Miss India has also come forward with #MeToo experience. The actress has accused her ex-boyfriend and award winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui of grabbing her. Niharika Singh explained that how Nawazuddin Siddiqui had harassed her in 2013. Both have worked for a film titled ‘Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa’ .
Niharika Singh said, “One morning, when I was home. Nawazuddin Siddiqui sent me a text saying he was near my building. I invited him to have breakfast with me. When I opened the door, he grabbed me and told me it was his dream to have a Miss India or an actress wife, just like Paresh Rawal and Manoj Bajpayee. “
Niharika Singh alleged, “Nawazuddin Siddiqui tried to re-engage me sexually, begging me to be with him but I refused, and said that I was happy to be his friend and nothing else.” When She said no to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he started to spread stories about her being a bad actress.
In a long post, Niharika Singh has also mentioned other perpetrators like Bhushan Kumar, and slammed Savarna feminists for standing by powerful men in their own circles.
On the otherside, Kubbra Sait, who played Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s girlfriend Cuckoo in Sacred Games, is not happy with Niharika Singh categorising her bitter relationship as #MeToo statement.
Kubbra Sait tweeted, “A relationship gone sour, isn’t #MeToo someone needs to recognise the toxic difference before we go picking sides. I stand by #NawazuddinSiddiqui or #Nowaz as a man.”
