Vijay Antony and Nivetha Pethuraj starrer Roshagadu (Thimiru Pudichavan), helmed by Ganeshaa (a former associate of SS Rajamouli who made his directorial debut with Nambiyaar) and is bankrolled by Fatima Vijay Antony, has hit the theaters today on 16th November 2018. Let’s check out the review of Roshagadu.

Story of Roshagadu: Kumara Swami (Vijay Antony) is a sincere and public-friendly sub inspector, who is disappointed with his younger brother going on the wrong path. He gets promoted as an inspector. He notices that the public in his area are being influenced by a goon Babji (Dheena). He comes to know that Babji hires minors to commit crimes. How Kumara Swami deals with the goon and frees the youngsters who are in his clutch and brings a change in the society, for the rest of the story.

 Plus Points:

  • Vijay Antony’s performance
  • Nivetha Pethuraj’s glamour
  • Interval block

 Minus Points:

  • Narration
  • Tamil flavor

Performance: One of biggest plus point of Roshagadu is the performance of Vijay Antony.  He acts naturally without going overboard. Nivetha Pethuraj looks glamorous in cop avatar. Though she got limited screen space but performed well. Daniel Balaji delivered a powerful performance. Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is fine. Rest of the cast performed accordingly.

Technical :  Like other movies, Kumara Swami (hero) is seen giving advice to the public, falls in love of a heroine and tries to change the society. There is nothing new in the story of Roshagadu. The slow pace narration has tested the patience of the audience. The film has a lot of Tamil flavor which may not go well with Telugu audience.  The cinematography is decent and suits to this genre. The music by Vijay Antony is good.  The background score elevated his heroism.  Production values are good. The dialogues are meaningful and are apt to the situations.

Analysis: Roshagadu is a routine cat-and-mouse game between a brainy cop and a dreaded criminal but it has a good message for Students in the form of a Commercial Film.
