Deepika Padukone is top star of Indian cinema in 2018

Deepika Padukone, the Bollywood diva, who recently tied the knot with Ranveer Singh, has been named the top Indian star of 2018. She has beaten Shah Rukh Khan, according to leading global movie website IMDb. Earlier both Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan have worked together for her Om Shanti Om.

On Tuesday, IMDb unveiled the 2018 Top 10 Stars of Indian Cinema list, which was derived using data from IMDbPro STARmeter rankings, which are based on page views of more than 250 M monthly visitors to the platform.

Neha Gureja, Head of International for IMDb said, “The strong performance of Deepika Padukone in this year’s Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorail venture  Padmaavat pushed her into the top spot on the 2018 IMDb Top Stars of Indian Cinema list.”

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, who will be seen playing the lead role in the upcoming movie Zero on 21st December, earned the second spot, and was followed by Thugs of Hindostan star Aamir Khan, Fanney Khan star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Race 3’s Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sacred Games’ Kubbra Sait, Irrfan Khan, the omnipresent Radhika Apte and 2.0 actor Akshay Kumar.

 On the other-side, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s first film together  Bajirao Mastani has completed three years today. DeepVeer took to Instagram to share sweet messages as one of their favourite characters turned three. Deepika Padukone wrote on Twitter, “celebrating her grace, strength & courage… #3YearsOfMastan.” Meanwhile, Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh shared a video on Instagram with a caption that read, “HAR HAR MAHADEV #3YearsOfBajiraoMastani”. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh starrer Bajirao Mastani is one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s finest works.

Deepika Padukone made her debut with Aishwarya, a Kannada film directed by Indrajit Lankesh. The romantic comedy was a remake of the Telugu film Manmadhudu. The actress has delivered a number of hit movies in her filmy career.
