Vijay Sethupathi is making his Telugu debut with director Surender Reddy’s period film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. It is being bankrolled by Ram Charan under the banner of Konidela Porduction company.
Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is based on the life of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Nayantara and Tamaannah Bhaita are playing the female leads and apart from them, Sye Raa has other stars like Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Tamannaah, Brahmaji and Huma Qureshi in important roles. Bollywood megastar Chiranjeevi is playing Guru Gosayi Venkanna.
Chiranjeevi has had a long-time desire to play a historical character and in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, he finds the perfect fit. In the teaser which was unveiled on the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s birthday in August earlier this year, the megastar is shown to be a leader of the oppressed as the British are shown to be the colonial masters.
Vijay Sethuapthi was last seen in Trisha Krishnan starrer 96 and he is eagerly waiting for the release of Petta starring Rajinikanth.
