Nithya Menen starrer The Iron Lady is directed by Priyadhaarshini and is produced by Papertale Pictures. The regular shoot of this upcoming film will commence from next year and the makers are planning to release the film during December 2019.
Earlier it was heard that either Varalaxmi Sarathkumar or Vidya Balan will play the female lead in Iron Day but now it has been officially confirmed that Awe beauty Nithya Menen is on the board to reprise the role of one of the most powerful women in Indian Politics.
Coming on the first look poster, Priyadhaarshini has termed Jayalalithaa as ‘India’s Margaret Thatcher.’ She has superimposed Nithya Menen’s face on a popular image of Jayalalithaa.
Priyadhaarshini, a former associate of director Mysskin, is currently busy in the shoot of her upcoming debut with Varalaxmi. Her biopic project was announced earlier this year by Sarkar and Spyder film maker AR Murugadoss.
The film’s title was revealed in the month of September last year. Director AR Murugadoss even congratulated her on Twitter after sharing the title of the film.
Nithya Menen starrer The Iron Lady’ will trace Jayalalithaa’s journey to stardom, her rise as a political leader and her final days at the hospital.
The pre-production work has been already started . Recently during the media interaction, Priyadhaarshini said, “Nithya Menen will don the role of Jayalalithaa in the film and that the film would officially go on the floors on 24th February, 2019, coinciding with Jayalalithaa’s birthday.
On the otherside, Nithya Menen will be next seen in upcoming movie NTR biopic, where she is playing the role of Savitri.
