Jigarthanda is comedy gangster film , directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kathiresan’s Group Company, in which Siddharth, Bobby Simha and Lakshmi Menon played the lead roles while the supporting cast includes Nassar, Ambika, Karunakaran and Sangili Murugan. The movie has won two National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor (Bobby Simha) and Best Editing (Vivek Harshan).
Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna has been already roped to play the female lead. Earlier Naga Shaurya and Rashmika Mandanna have worked together for Chalo which was decent hit at the box office.
Uyyala Jampala, Cinema Choopista Maava and Kumari 21 F fame Raj Tarun was last seen in romantic entertainer Lover which was turned out flop at the box office and after Lover he did not sign any Telugu project. Raj Tarun is also waiting for a good script and is planning to make his strong comeback.
As Harish Shankar found the script interesting and appealing to the Telugu audience, he finalized the remake. The sources close to the director reveal that Varun Tej has agreed to do the negative role and now, the director is looking for other actor to play Siddharth’s role.
On the otherside, Varun Tej is currently busy in his upcoming movie F2 Fun and Frustration, which is gearing up for grand release very soon.
