Last year Esha Gupta was trolled for showing her middle finger on the Internet in a boomerang video and this time she is being slammed by the netizens on social media sites for making racist comments on a Nigerian footballer.
On Monday, the social media o was abuzz over a snapshot of a Whatsapp conversation that Esha Gupta shared on her Instagram stories. The conversation criticized Iwobi for his performance.
In the conversation, Esha Gupta’s friend called Nigerian footballer Alexander Iwobi a ‘gorilla’ and said that ‘evolution stopped for him’. She even said that the footballer Iwobi did not change from “neanderthal to man”.
In her post, Jannat 2 fame Esha Gupta was seen expressing her racist remarks on the footballer. “Solves our winger issues. I can’t see that gorilla faced Iwobi running down the flank again. He’s so bad ya,” read the screenshot.
Her comment did not go well and netizens started to troll the actress. Later Esha Gupta apologised on her Twitter account. She wrote on her Twitter, ”Guys I am sorry you thought it was racist. Was bad on my part, being a sports lover. Sorry guys, forgive the stupidity.”
Esha Gupta again wrote, “It was us discussing our frustration during the game.sorry as I din realise it directed towards racism.laughed over the spur of the moment, which was the games result guys.been victim of racism myself before. But this is not something m proud of. It was a fault, sorry guys” But Internet is not forgiving her. Few comments by the netizens are as follows:
Anonymity@heretocorrectyo :Don’t bother. She’s not actually apologetic, just full of excuses.
name: yega@YEGASMITH: Don’t put #gooner4life after such stupidness we don’t wanna be associated with such dumbassery
Bhargav@ThatIndianGuy: “I’m sorry you thought it was racist” is the biggest non-apology I’ve ever seen
