It is known the news that a week after the brutal gang rape and murder of a young veterinarian Disha in Hyderabad, police shot dead all the four accused in an alleged ‘encounter’ near Shadnagar town. In the wake of the encounter of the accused in Disha’s brutal rape and murder case, the other long pending cases in the same line have become the talk of the town. The rape and brutal murder of Ayesha Meera, a Vijayawada student which shook the state 12 years back came back to limelight again. The real culprits, in this case, are yet to be nabbed. The team of CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) which has been investigating Ayesha Meera’s case has reportedly decided to conduct re-postmortem on her body.

Sources revealed that CBI has been investigating the rape and murder case of Ayesha Meera and has also gathered crucial evidence from the accused Satyam Babu and others related to the case. CBI is apparently looking to conducted re-postmortem on the remains of Ayesha Meera’s body after 12 years as part of the investigation. The re-postmortem will happen soon and CBI Officials are making all the necessary arrangements. Soon a team of experts will visit the place where the body of Ayesha Meera was buried.

Satyam Babu who was arrested in this case was announced innocent last year and he was left free. Several petitions have been filed in the High Court after which the court asked CBI to take up this case of Ayesha Meera.

Ayesha Meera, a pharmacy student from Tenali was raped and later murdered in one of the private ladies hostels in the suburb of Vijayawada on 27th December 2007. Though the police arrested Satyam Babu locking him up for nine years, he came out innocent with High Court orders handing over the case to the CBI.
