The Director-General of GST intelligence sleuths along with GST commission rate officials of Hyderabad conducted searches on Telugu actress Lavanya Tripathi on Friday and found service tax evasion of around Rs 20 lakh.
The Officials from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence on Friday have conducted raids on several business establishments, including those of actress Lavanya Tripathi, for alleged tax evasion. According to sources, Lavanya Tripathi who played roles in several Telugu films had allegedly evaded GST on a business transaction worth Rs 20 lakh. The raids were carried out on one of Lavanya Tripathi’s rented houses in Banjara Hills.
The sources say that GST official conducted raid at 23 locations in Hyderabad consecutively for the third day. The raids were conducted in various sectors including the entertainment, media houses, financial services, consultancy, infra companies, and fitness centers. The GST Officials also searched the house of Lavanya Tripathi who is the well-known face for Telugu audiences.
When GST Officials conducted raids, Lavanya Tripathi was away from her residence. In the presence of her staff, the officials had verified the GST payments made by the actress on the purchase of several valuables. It is heard that Lavanya Tripathi had evaded tax worth of Rs 20 lakh.
Apart from Lavanya Tripathi, the GST officials have also conducted raids on a real estate company officer, various media houses, infrastructure offices, and educational institutions in the city, and they found many violations.
Lavanya Tripathi entered the film industry in 2012, with the Telugu film, Andala Rakshasi. Her Popular movies are Maayavan, Radha, Mister, Srirastu Subhamastu, Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi, Sokkali Mainor, Bale Bale Magadivoy, Chalien School, Bramman, Doosukeltha, Antariksham 9000 kmph, Parvathi, Dharma Bhai, Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi, Yuddham Sharanam and Andala Rakshasi. She was last seen in recently released movie Arjun Suravaram, which is running successfully at the box office.
