The state health department in its bulletin released at 10 am reported that  Andhra Pradesh have been found out of 19,085 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Out of this 553 have shown positive Covid-19 results. While 477 cases were from the State, 69 were from other States, and seven were from those who returned from other countries.  The surge in Coronavirus cases in Telangana continued with 920 people testing +ive and five succumbing to the coronavirus virus, taking the tally to 11,364 and the toll to 230.

The coronavirus results uploaded on the portal by private labs have shown abnormalities which may be due to technical issues in the way of testing. On Thursday, a team of specialists inspected various private labs to check the availability of infrastructures, trained manpower, procedure of testing and quality control.  Latest update revealed that an expert committee will evaluate whether the testing protocols in these labs conformed to ICMR standards or not.

The official said that each sample has to be tested within 48 hours and till then it has to be preserved in controlled temperature. If there is delay in testing the samples, it may show false positive results.

The Telangana government announced suspension of Coronavirus tests for two days in Hyderabad and surrounding districts amid a massive backlog of samples waiting to be tested even as the state recorded a whopping 920 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
