Poonam Kaur who is known for her supporting characters in movies like ‘Vinayakudu’, ‘Shouryam’, ‘Attack’, ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’, and others hasn’t acted in any recent movies. Few days ago, Poonam was in the news headline for targeting the so-called ‘Guruji’ for destructing her life and pushing her into depression. She claimed that Guruji, who is known for his strong political ties, spoke at length of late actor Savitri on the stage, but always imported heroines and never encouraged local Telugu actors. Now once again her tweet has become the talk of the town. This time she is targeting a politician.
This time targeting exploitation in politics Poonam Kaur said that like how newcomers are exploited by few in the film industry, even stars are exploited by a few politicians. She took to her twitter ans said, “Because of their reputation and security, they don’t get to speak up. Most of them are apolitical here but scumb to pressure not by will can they anything.”
While it is still unsure about whom she aimed that tweet, she definitely sparked a controversy.
In the month of January this year, Poonam Kaur had attended the conference on ‘Money Power in Politics’ initiated by Lok Satta founder Jayaprakash Narayan. On this occasion, she revealed that she and her family became victims of money power in politics.
