Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu starrer Athadu completed 15 years as the movie was released on 10th August 2005. Athadu is an action thriller film, directed by Trivikram Srinivas and the film had Trisha Krishnan in the female lead role. Apart from the lead pair,  the film also has Sonu Sood, Sayaji Shinde, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Sunil, Rahul Dev and Brahmanandam in  the supporting roles. It was produced by D. Kishore and M. Ram Mohan under the banner of Jayabheri Arts banner whereas Murali Mohan was the presenter of the film.

The film Athadu went on to become one of the highest grossing Telugu films in and marked Mahesh Babu’ career resurgence after a few unsuccessful films. Trivikram Srinivas’ directorial venture won 3 Nandi Awards and a Filmfare Awards South in the category of Best Director category. Later it was remade in Hindi as Ek and in Bengali as Wanted starring Jeet and Srabanti. Over the years, Mahesh Babu starrer attained a cult status. The film Athadu had collected a worldwide distributor share of  over Rs 17 Crores. It was the second-highest earner for  Mahesh Babu  after Okkadu.

 Meanwhile Mahesh Babu is getting ready to resume the shoot of upcoming film  Sarkaru Vaarti Paata.
