We have already reported that Thavasi was diagnosed with cancer and he was taking treatment at a hospital in Saravana Multispeciality Hospital, Madurai recently. But now according to the latest report, Thavasi of Kizhakku Cheemayile fame breathed his last on Monday evening. Thavasi has acted in more than 140 films in supporting roles. Number of celebrities from the film industry including Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Sivakarthikeyan, Soundararaja, Silambarasan TR had extended financial support to the actor Thavasi when he was struggling to meet the expenses for his treatment. Few days ago Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth also offered financial support to this Tamil actor.
Thavasi was known for movies like Kizhakku Cheemayile, Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Rajini Murugan and Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai among others. He has also acted in TV show Rasathi. His last film in Annaatthe in which Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth and lady Superstar Nayantara are playing the lead roles.
Recently a drama artist met the actor Thavasi in the hospital and released a video, in which he said that it was a sad situation being faced by a man who made everyone laugh and feel happy by his performance and comedy skill. After working hard in the film industry, he came up to this level.”
Thavasi also pleaded for help and said he never thought he would be affected by such type of disease.
