Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently busy in his ongoing social message oriented movie Acharya which has Kajal Aggarwal as a leading lady. Recently Chiranjeevi made an official announcement regarding his next project which is a remake of Malayalam film Lucifer, which will be helmed by Jayam Mohan Raja. The Lucifer remake will go on the floor post Sankranthi. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, the makers are considering the name of Goa beauty Ileana D Cruz to play the female lead in Chiranjeevi starrer.
It is worth noting that Jayam Mohan Raja had worked as an assistant director on Chiranjeevi starrer action drama Hitler. Chiranjeevi’ 153th film Lucifer remake marks Mohan Raja’ second Telugu directorial after Hanuman Junction and if everything goes accordingly, Ileana D Cruz will be seen playing the female lead.
Chiranjeevi starrer Lucifer remake will be bankrolled by NV Prasad’s NVR Cinema and Ram Charan’s Konidela Production Company. Known for directing the movies such as Jayam, Santosh Subramaniam, M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, and Thani Oruvan, Mohan Raja is returning to helm a remake after making three original films in a row. The Telugu remake of Lucifer was originally supposed to be helmed by Saaho fame Sujeeth. In fact, Chiranjeevi had confirmed signing Sujeeth for the remake.
Ileana D Cruz was last seen in romantic and action drama ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ in which Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja.
