Earlier this year, there was a strong buzz in the film industry that Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor will be teaming up for a gangster drama with Sandeep Reddy Vanga who made his debut in Telugu film industry with Arjun Reddy starring the young and happening actor Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. Reportedly, the movie was earlier titled Devil and was slated to go on floors after Ranbir Kapoor wrapped up the shoot of his ongoing big budget projects Brahmastra and Shamshera. According to the latest update, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has named his film Animal in which Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead role.
The sources say that Sandeep Reddy Vanga has decided to change the title since Devil has been registered with Sajid Nadiadwala. The producer has declined the request to part with the title rights since he is planning to use the title for the sequel of Kick starring Salman Khan.
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor had already met Sandeep Reddy Vanga and other film producers to discuss the plot and script. They liked the story and gave green signals to the makers.
Before Animal, Ranbir Kapoor will work for Luv Ranjan’s next film in which he will share the screen space with Shraddha Kapoor.
