National award winning actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the lead role in an upcoming multilingual drama Thalaivi in which she is essaying the role of late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa. According to the latest update, the entire shoot of Thalaivi has been wrapped up.  Queen fame   Kangana Ranaut made the announcement  by releasing two photographs, one of herself and one of the late actress turned politician.

Arvind Swami is playing the role of Jayalalithaa’ mentor, yesteryear legendary actor and former Tamil Nadu CM MGR.  The movie is helmed by  AL Vijay and bankrolled by T-Series, Vibri Media and Karma Media Entertainments banners  whereas GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music of Tamil-Hindi bilingual.

On the occasion of lat CM of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa’ death anniversary,  the actress Kangana Ranaut  remembered her by sharing few stills from  Thalaivi  by saying that on the death anniversary of Jayalalithaa Amma, sharing some working stills from  the movie Thalaivi- the revolutionary leader.

Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi  is written by Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manikarnika writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai  and The Dirty Picture writer Rajat Arora.  The makers are yet to lock the release date of  Thalaivi.
