Vijayashanti made a comeback after a 13 year sabbatical to act in Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu starrer film Sarileru Neekevvaru which was released this year on the occasion of Sankranthi. Vijayashanti has worked in over 175 movies with a career spanning 3 decades. Carving a niche in Tollywood of the 80s and 90s, she was the actress who could match steps with Megastar Chiranjeevi in the movie. During the promotional event of Sarileru Neekevvaru had said that she is ready to act with Chiranjeevi if she gets a right project.
Recently Vijayashanti attended an interview and said that she is no longer interested in acting with megastar Chiranjeevi. The lady Amitabh said, “I am not keen on acting with Chiranjeevi or any other actor. Currently I am busy in my political activities and I am not interested in acting anymore.”
Few people are aware that Vijayashanti didn’t dub for herself for almost a decade into her career, due to a botched up tonsillectomy at the age of 11.
Earlier during an interview, she had said, “The doctors assured me that my voice would get better with age, I was traumatized. But later on, when I started to take up the tougher roles, I started to dub for myself.”
