Megastar Chiranjeevi who is currently working with Koratala Siva of Mirchi and Bharat Ane Nenu fame for an upcoming social message oriented movie Acharya. We have already reported that Chiru has also started the preparation for his next Telugu project, which is a remake of Malayalam movie Lucifer in which Mohanlal played the lead role.
The movie also featured young Malayalam star Tovino Thomas in a crucial role. Mohan Raja has been brought on the board to helm Lucifer remake and the movie will be launched on 21st January with the pooja ceremony.
Recently there was strong buzz in the film industry that the makers are planning to approach Rana Daggubati, Ram Charan and Vijay Deverakonda to essay the role of Tovino Thomas in Lucifer’s Telugu remake but now it is being heard that Mohan Raja has taken a big decision to completely chop off the Tovino Thomas’ character from the story and Megastar Chiranjeevi has also agreed for this.
The Lucifer remake will be jointly bankrolled by Ram Charan and NV Prasad. The reports are also coming that Nayantara will play the role, Manju Warrier did in the original. Though Nayantara has agreed to be part of the remake, she is yet to sign on the project.
