Shekar Movie Review: Rajashekar, Muskaan Kubchandhani, Athmeeya Rajan, Shivani Rajashekar, starrer  Shekar helmed by Jeevitha Rajashekar, has hit the theaters today on 20th May. Let’s see the story of Shekar movie.

Story: Shekar (Rajashekar) is a retired cop.  He is also a remarkably sharp man with his eyes and the ears always wide open, accentuating his capability as an investigator. Though he  leads an undisciplined life, but he can solve even the most difficult of crimes in a few hours. One day, suddenly his ex-wife passes away. Shekar smells something fishy after his wife’s death and digs deeper, and realizes that another loss from the past has also been murky. Who is behind it? How will Shekar solve the mystery?  To get these answers, one should watch Shekar movie on the silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • Dr Rajashekar
  • Performance
  • Crime angle
  • Story
  • Climax

Minus Points:

  • Screenplay
  • Overdose of sentimental scenes

Performance: The casting of Shekar is perfect.  Once again Dr Rajashekar steals the show with his performance. He deserves a lot of applause for his performance. His energy level is superb and suited to his character.  Shivani has a cameo and she makes her presence felt. Muskaan performs well.   Atmeeya Rajan essays the same character that she did in its Malayalam original version Joseph.  Every character in the movie Shekar is wonderfully portrayed.

Technical:  Shekar has suspense, emotions and mysteries. The  music composer Anup Rubens’ beautiful composition enhances the mood of the movie.   The cinematographer Mallikarjun Naragani provides unobtrusive visuals that help the movie in a big way. The production values are ok and editing is up to the mark. The songs that punctuate the narrative slow down the languidly paced film. Though the story is interesting but the screenplay is dull

Analysis:  Shekar is a brilliantly crafted investigative thriller that throws light on the life of a police officer. Go and watch it.
