The movie ‘Acharya’ directed by Koratala Shiva and starring megastar Chiranjeevi as the hero was released on April 29 and wrapped up the flop talk. Co-produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy under the banner of Matney Entertainments, this film stars Ramcharan as the co-producer and also plays the role of Siddha. He was paired with Pooja Hegde as the heroine.
The huge theatrical business took place as the expectations on this film were heavily recorded from the very beginning. But the collections for that business are not going to be registered at the box office though. The 4th day felt much worse compared to the first 3 days. However, on the 5th day because of the Ramzan holiday, it seemed to be okay.
Take a look at the ‘Acharya’ 5 Days Collections:
Nizam 10.66 cr
Seeded 5.90 cr
Uttarandhra 4.65 cr
Yeast 3.29 cr
West 3.38 cr
Guntur 4.16 cr
Krishna 2.96 cr
Nellore 2.75 cr
AP + Telangana (Total) 37.75 cr
Rest of India 2.80 cr
Overseas 4.89 cr
Worldwide (Total) 45.44 cr
The theatrical business of ‘Acharya’ was Rs 133.2 crore. The movie should have been a break even, earning a share of up to Rs 134 crore. By the end of the first weekend, this film had grossed just Rs 45.44 crore a share. Breakeven is expected to raise another Rs 88.56 crore per share. The target is not small though.
The openings on the first day seemed okay, but on the second day and the third day they dropped well, depending on the image of koratala. On the 4th day, shares were registered in areas like East and Guntur, which also saddened the trade. The Ramzan festive holiday yesterday seemed to heal somewhat but these are not enough to receive at least a share mark of Rs 50 crore.
