Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi have been summoned by ED in connection with the National Herald case. They have been summoned for interrogation in the money laundering case by the investigative agency on 8th June
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said, “Started the National Herald newspaper in 1942 , At that time, the British tried to suppress it, today Narnedra Modi government is also doing the same and the enforcement directorate is being used for this. ED has given notice to our president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi”.
Informing the media about the summons order, Congress leader and senior counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi stated that a money laundering case had been resolved in the year 2015. There is no evidence of money laundering or of any money exchange. He stated that Sonia Gandhi will attend for questioning if necessary, the congress party will write to the investigative agency seeking time for Rahul Gandhi, who is currently abroad.
Singhvi added, “BJP- Bharatiya Janata Party is using puppet agencies to intimidate political opponents. And added that all opposition leaders including Farooq Abdullah and Mamata Banerjee, are under the attacks from central agencies.
The sources say that ED had also questioned the Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in connection with the money laundering probe into the National Herald case.
