Sumanth who is playing the role of his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), in upcoming NTR biopic, has shared the poster of his character’s look on his Twitter, today on the occasion of 91st birth anniversary of ANR. Coming on the poster, Sumanth is seen as middle-aged Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR). It is known news that Akkineni Naga Chaitanya had played a young ANR in Nag Ashwin’s directorial venture Mahanati. But this time, the makers of NTR biopic, brought Sumanth on the board to play the role of ANR. Nandamuri Balakrishna is playing the role of his father and late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh- Sr NTR and the NTR biopic is being helmed by Krish.
ANR and NTR have worked together for several movies like Misamma, Bhookailasa, Rama Krishnulu, Gundamma Katha, Mayabazaar and Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddhaamu.
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is playing Basavatarakam, the wife of NTR, Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta will be seen as LV Prasad, who launched NTR in films with Mana Desam. Baahubali star Rana Daggubati is playing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Sumanth is the nephew of Nagarjuna Akkineni and also a partner in the family owned Annapurna Studios. He is the only son of Surendra Yarlagadda and the late Satyavathi Akkineni, the eldest child of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Sumanth was last seen in supernatural mystery thriller drama Subrahmanyapuram, which was directed by debutant Santosh Jagarlapudi, under the Taurus Cine Corp banner.
