When Baahubali presenter and producer Karan Johar asked Janhvi Kapoor, “If you want to wake up one day as a male actor, Who that would be ?” Janhvi Kapoor replied, “Vijay Deverakonda”. She also added that she will do a film with him.
Karan Johar explained to the audience that Vijay Deverakonda is a sexy south Indian actor who has delivered a hit movie Arjun Reddy , which is being remade in Hindi.
It seems Vijay Deverakonda has become popular at National level. Earlier it was also heard that he is planning to make his Bollywood debut. It seems, he will make his Hindi debut with Janhvi Kapoor.
We have already reported that the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy has been titled as Kabir Singh, in which Sahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are playing the lead role, in the direction of Sundeep Reddy Vanga. In its original Telugu version, Vijay Deverakonda shared the screen space with Shalini Pandey.
Earlier few media houses reported that Janhvi Kapoor was the original choice for the film. She was in talks with the makers, but dropped out on mentor Karan Johar’s insistence.
The insider said, “Karan Johar does not want her to be a part of ‘masala’ action movies at this point in her career. He wants her to do glamorous roles, like the one in Dhadak. “
On the otherside, Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam fame Vijay Deverakonda is currently enjoying the success of his recent offering Taxiwaala, which is running successfully at the box office. The young and talented actor is also busy in his next upcoming film Dear Comrade.
Recently Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Geetha Govindam completed 100 days at the box office.
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will next star in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer ‘Takht’ which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranvir Singh and Anil Kapoor.
