Mary Kom won a historic 6th gold at the Boxing World Championships to become the most decorated women’s boxer at the competition. Held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, the world championship saw Mary Kom emerge as the winner by a 5-0 verdict. No one has won more world titles than 35-year old Mary Kom.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also sent congratulatory messages to Mary Kom. Mr Modi wrote on Twitter,” A proud moment for Indian sports. Congratulations to Mary Kom for winning a Gold in the Women’s World Boxing Championships. The diligence with which she’s pursued sports and excelled at the world stage is extremely inspiring. Her win is truly special. @MangteC”
Mary Kom wrote, “I have fulfilled my duty. I thank my coaches, support staffs @BFI_official @IndiaSports @Media_SAI for all the supports and beloved in me.”
Priyanka Chopra who played the role of Mary Kom in her biopic, tweeted, “Wow! Only you could do it!! What an achievement… the first female boxer to win the #WorldChampionship for an unprecedented 6th time! Congratulations @MangteC… It’s a proud moment for the nation & you are and always will be my inspiration.. Here’s to #MagnificentMary.”
On the other-side, Rajamouli is currently busy in his upcoming directorial venture RRR. Regular shoot has been already started.
Rajamouli has brought top two actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan on the board to play the lead roles. Currently the team is in the search of female leads.
It is also come out that after wrapping the shoot of RRR, Rajamouli will work with Mahesh Babu for a bilingual project.
