Besides Dhanush, Maari 2 stars Sai Pallavi as the leading lady whereas Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be seen playing a key role. Maari 2 will also feature Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas as the antagonist and will mark his debut in Kollywood.
Maari 2, the action comedy film is directed by Balaji Mohan and produced by Dhanush under the banner of Wunderbar Films. It is a sequel to his 2015 film Maari in which Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal played the lead roles.
Maari 2 is a bilingual movie which is being made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The movie has completed the censor formalities and received a U/A certificate from the regional Censor Board.
The music of Maari 2 is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Dhanush will be seen playing the role of a don.
Sai Pallavi, who made her Telugu debut with Varun Tej starrer Fidaa in the direction of Sekhar Kammula, will be seen playing the love interest of Dhanush in Maari 2.
Sai Pallavi is playing Aarathu Anandhi whereas Varalakshmi Sarathkumar will be seen playing Vijaya, the ex-girlfriend of Dhanush.
On the otherside, apart from Maari 2, Sai Pallavi will also be seen in Padi Padi Leche Manasu, in which Sharwanand is playing the lead role.
