Vatti Vasantha Kumar and C Ramachandraiah to join Pawan Kalyan Jana Sena

Vatti Vasantha Kumar, former Congress minister and C Ramachandraiah, the former MP are contemplating to join Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party.

C Ramachandraiah is the second leader to quit the party. On Friday, Vatti Vasant Kumar had resigned from the Congress.  On this occasion he said, “I am deeply hurt. We have been working against the TDP since 1983. How are we supposed to tell our supporters to work with those against whom we have fought tooth and nail till date? Hence I resigned from the Congress.”

Other senior leaders and C Ramachandraiah are also reportedly upset.

 According to the latest update, the Congress president Raghuveera Reddy tried to convince C Ramachandraiah to stay back with the Party. However, the latter was firm on his decision and said that he does not want to work with Chandrababu Naidu.

Both Vatti Vasantha Kumar and C Ramachandraiah were not happy with the party entering into an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Telangana.

However, Telugu Desam (TDP), a party founded on the principles of Telugu self-respect and was anti-Congress from the time of its inception, announced a strategic alliance to defeat the BJP in 2019. The announcement came after the Chandrababu Naidu and Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi held a meeting in Delhi, recently.

N Tulasi Reddy, APCC vice-president termed the meeting of Chandrababu Naidu and Rahul Gandhi meet historic. He added, “In fact, it is wrong to say that Telugu Desam Party was born to fight against the Congress. As Congress was in power at the time, such a theory was believed. And, this is not the first time that  Congress and TDP have joined hands. When PM PV Narasimha Rao contested from Nandyal, then TDP president Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao did not field any candidate. Telugu Desam Party was also a part of the United Front government formed with the support of Congress.”

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s  Jana Sena Party is gaining strength with several Congress leaders joining his party.
